Included with every Hybrid Pond™ Kit and Koi Pond Kit. Works in conjunction with HydroClean™ Pond Skimmers.
Versatile Bottom Drain for use with 1½", 2", 3", or 4" Flexible or Rigid PVC piping. Connects to HydroClean™ Pond Skimmers or can be directly plumbed to Hydro Centrimax™ Centrifugal Pumps which have "built-in" debris traps and baskets.
Should be installed at the lowest area of the pond with the pond bottom sloped towards the Bottom Drain.
This diagram shows the proper placement of the Bottom Drain in a Hybrid Pond™.
The deepest area of the pond should be underneath the waterfalls and opposite the HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer. Install the Bottom Drain in this area. Place the HydroAir Aeration Kit's Air Stone on top of, or between the Bottom Drain and the side wall closest to the waterfall.
The photo on the right of the Ahi Series Hybrid Pond™ System shows the placement of the Bottom Drain, the HydroAir HA-1500 Aeration Kit's Air Stone, and the waterfalls from an Ahi Hydro Vortex™ Easy to Clean Waterfall Filter with the HydroFlush™ Backwash System.
The water depth at the Bottom Drain is 3'-6" with the "shallow end" of this pond at 3'-0" deep. The bare liner pond bottom is sloped towards the Bottom Drain and HydroAir™ Aeration System.
This diagram demonstrates where the Bottom Drain should be placed in a Koi Pond.
The deepest area should be opposite the HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer and the HydroUV™ water return pipe and below the HydroBead Vortex™ Filter's water return pipe.
