Pond professionals gathered to support the cause and educate the students of Harriet Gifford. Read more about Kids for koi below.
Roughly a dozen representatives ate lunch in the courtyard of the west-side school, just feet away from the its koi pond. The experts — who hailed from the Netherlands, California, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey and Iowa — were in the area to help construct the Rolana Tankus Fox Healing Koi Pond & Japanese Gardens at the Koi Whisperer Sanctuary in St. Charles. Harriet Gifford Elementary School hosted an international delegation of koi pond experts on Wednesday who wanted to see how school children can interact with the Japanese fish.
