The Original pondless waterfall was beautiful, but very difficult to clean. The waterfall filter wasn't backflushable, and the water disappeared into a deep basin filled completely with gravel. The pump was difficult to access as it was inside a pump chamber down inside the gravel basin.
The "Original" pondless waterfall spawned imitations from virtually every water feature equipment manufacturer on the planet.
