Russell Watergardens & Koi "Is Green" with 100% Backwash Water Recycling into Organic Irrigation and Fertilization
Russell Watergardens & Koi's Flagship Store in Redmond, Washington recycles 100% of it's filter's backwash water into these twin 1,000 gallon "above-ground" Hydro Tanks™ nestled behind trees in the northeast corner of the property. Our biological filter's drain/backwash lines and skimmer overflow lines empty into 4" main drain pipes that empty into a HydroChamber™ on the northwest corner of the property. An HD-5700 Hydro Dynamax submersible pump with an Auto ON/OFF Float Switch inside the HydroChamber™ then pumps the backwash water through a 2" pipe to the twin 1,500 gallon Hydro Tanks™ you see in the photo above left. When backwash water enters the HydroChamber™, the HD-5700's Auto ON/OFF Float Switch turns the pump on, then proceeds to pump the water out of the HydroChamber™ and into the twin 1,500 Hydro Tanks™ for irrigation use.
An HC-050 Hydro Centrimax Centrifugal Pump is plumbed to the Drain Ports of the Hydro Tanks™. Garden hoses and soaker hoses are then connected to the outlet of the HC-050 Hydro Centrimax Pump for daily irrigating and organic fertilizing.
