The inlet pipe also allows the Pelican HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer to easily attach to standard 10" PVC pipe for unparalleled remote installation capabilities.
Remote skimmer installation makes for a much nicer looking pond, and gives the designer options like no other skimmer. Don't have an electrical power source near the pond for the pump? No problem! Simply move the skimmer closer to the electrical power source with PVC piping! No other brand of pond skimmer on the market can do that!

Many brands of pond skimmers on the market feature filter pads that are under water by as much as 15". Easy Plumbing Installation
All Inlets and Outlets are "Pre-Installed" on HydroClean™ Pond Skimmers. This makes for simple, quick, and easy plumbing attachment inside, and outside the skimmer.
The Pelican HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer features 3 Interchangeable 3" Outlet Ports that are Female Threaded inside and outside the skimmer walls. The Pelican HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer also has a ½" Inlet Port for the simple, quick, and easy installation of an Automatic Water Fill Valve. Plugs are included for the Ports that you may choose not to use.
Having threaded ports means that all connections to the Pelican HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer are not only water tight, they are soil tight. Why is that important? Skimmers get installed underground. If the plumbing connections entering or exiting the skimmer are not "soil tight", then soil falls into the skimmer. Every time it rains, you'll be washing soil into your pond through the skimmer's plumbing openings! So when comparing brands of pond skimmers, look to see how the plumbing lines enter and exit the skimmer body. If they aren't soil tight, then you'll be constantly removing soil from your skimmer, filtration system, and pond. Or simply purchase a HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer and rest assured that you purchased the finest "soil tight" pond skimmer on the market!
Another nice feature of the Pelican HydroClean™ Pond Skimmer is its "round" pump chamber shape. The Pelican is in the "Large Skimmer" classification - which means they are designed for large ponds with large pumps. Needing to hold large pumps, the skimmer body needs to be quite large.
